Premium cedar is the best wood for fences because it lasts longer and is naturally waterproof and insect resistant, and it looks good too. Cedar comes in standard, select and premium grades, but we only use the best grade, which is premium for our fences. Cedar will weather to a natural gray color within a year if it is not stained, and a coat of stain will help the fence maintain the fresh cedar color for about 5 years. We can stain or leave your fence unstained depending on your preference.
Yes, anchoring your fence posts in concrete will hold your fence much more solid than just filling the post hole with dirt. Using concrete to anchor your fence posts will cost a little more, but your fence will last much longer. We can set up to 30 fence posts in concrete, two feet deep, in a single day. We mix our concrete on the job site to save on concrete cost and we pour it in the post hole as soon as we make it, so the concrete doesn't dry out too soon making a weak concrete anchor.
We install fences during the winter as long as the temperature is 30'F or above. If the temperature is too cold the concrete post anchors may not cure properly and your fence will not last as long. We can't install your fence during high winds, because high winds can blow panels down and disturb the concrete post anchors while they are curing, resulting in loose fence posts and a weak fence. High winds rarely delay us more than a day.
The basic wooden privacy (or dog ear) style fence is very common in Fort Collins & Loveland. It has three horizontal rails with vertical dog eared pickets. Pickets are the vertical boards that create the surface of a fence panel, and "dog ear" means to trim the top corners of the pickets at 45′.
Wooden panel style privacy fence is similar to the basic wooden privacy fence, but it has a wooden cap on top and trim boards to cover the nails.
Three rail dog fence typically uses 2"x6" horizontal rails, one on the bottom, one on the top, and one in the middle. This frame is covered with 2"x4" woven wire which will keep dogs and other animals contained.

We usually include the cost of materials and labor in our fence project quotes, but we will just quote the labor cost if you want to provide the materials. Fence supply companies offer contractors like us a discounted price on materials, so you will actually save money by having us buy all the materials that we need to complete your fence project.
